Here are a couple of Photos of the new Accucraft Ruby Live Steam Engine. Not under it's own power. This Steam Engine is the most inexpensive Live Steamer that I have found and one that is very easy to run. It adds a whole new element to Large Scale Garden Railroading.
Here is a night steam up of the Ruby on the left. The cooler the weather, the more of a Steam Plume. Cool weather requires that the Ruby be Pre Heated. On the Right, you see #1 heading out of the station pulling oar cars.
Another photo of the Steamer. This is a great shot showing the engine just as it is slowly getting under way. The water vapor is splashing on the engine.
The Steam Ruby has more than enough power to pull several cars. Finding the right fuel and throttle settings requires several runs. Since my line has an uphill and downhill run, the Ruby's speed is inconsistent.

On the left, you see the interior shot of the controls. Upper left is Fuel control. To the right of that is Steam throttle. Lower right is forward, neutral, & reverse lever.
On the right - sputtering hot water.
The Ruby is designed to be added kit bashed [modified]. I am examing the possibilities. For some Kit Bash ideas, check out this link
