New Bachmann Big Hauler 4-6-0 10th Anniversary
As the continuing photo display continues regarding the remodeled Bachamnn 4-6-0, itis apparent that there are almost too many changes to list. There has been tests stating that this engine is a better puller.  The most recent 4-6-0's did have an improved drive train.  It was prone to having the the plastic gear slip on the drive axle.  I have not noticed this with the new hauler.  It seems to pull better.
New - notice the new mold that represents metal and wood cover plates and walkway.
Old Big Hauler 4-6-0 - plain.
On the right is the guts of the Bachmann.  The drive mechanism seems to be the same but the motor is a 7 pole motor which makes for a smoother ride and more efficient use of power.

Above is the new Hauler tender, right is the old.  there are some slight differences.  The Back up light does in fact work. This requires an extra wire plug in to the engine.
Note the hightly detailed bolts and the all metal grab bar and coupler release.  Just about everything else on the tender is the same.  The sound is the same.  The back up light works
when the unit is in reverse.  The headlamp has been improved.  The color is very orange but
it should be that way...

Time to do a 2 hour test.  Only 104 degrees outside...track level.    May 28, 2001
